Yoga and Ayurveda go hand in hand and complement each other. Ayurveda takes care of our physical and mental well-being through nutrition, and yoga of our mental and spiritual well-being through physical exercises. At the same time, yoga promotes a strong, healthy and flexible body. Yoga supports the Ayurvedic way and vice versa. They complement each other on the path to becoming a whole person.
Take a dive into Yoga and Ayurveda and return home with a practical 20-minute yoga routine for every day. Get familiar with different forms of meditation and breathing techniques, and experience their deeply healing and transforming effect. Get your own personal dietary program for improved health and fitness.
This is not your average yoga retreat in some big resort with 30+ participants. This is an exclusive, up-close-and-personal introduction into Yoga and Ayurveda with a maximum of 8 participants in a very quiet and beautiful part of Andalusia. Finca Ranchilles is located on 90 ha of the National Park “Sierra de Grazalema” with a big lake at walking distance.
Surrounded by semi-wild land inhabited by a herd of Andalusian horses with only trees and wildlife for company, the location is an oasis of tranquility. Perfect for escaping the busy day-to-day life and immersing yourself in the healing practice of yoga, pranayama, meditation and delicious healthy food.
“Ayurveda is the science of life and it has a very basic, simple kind of approach, which is that we are part of the universe and the universe is intelligent and the human body is part of the cosmic body.”
Deepak Chopra
Karen is your Ayurvedic nutritional therapist. She will take you on a journey to discover your Ayurvedic constitution, and she will teach you how you can change your diet in order to take advantage of the benefits of good nutrition to improve your health.
Yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance. There is no age limit, on the contrary. Many people start yoga later in life and wish they had done so sooner. Christophe and Karen are good examples of this.
Karen:
“Before meeting Christophe, I had never practiced yoga but had long been wanting to. It just wasn’t very high on my list of priorities, so it didn’t happen. I thought yoga was a very quiet form of movement that would sooner put you to sleep than make you sweat. And then I met Christophe in February of 2017, and had to reconsider my prejudice.
We had gotten to know each other through our meditation practice, but Christophe waisted no time teaching me his daily yoga routine, which precedes our daily meditation. Who would have thought that yoga can actually make you sweat??!”
Unfortunately, we haven’t taken any pictures of Karen at that time, but the following shots show you a rather accurate before (simulated based on memory) and after situation. Whereby “after” is after 2 years of doing 15 to 20 minutes of yoga every day. This is to show you what only 20 minutes per day can do for you. In just a few weeks, you can already achieve very good results. Karen was 47 when she started yoga, but it’s never too late. Anybody, no matter their age, can start practising yoga and benefit from it.

Holistic means that it considers body and mind as an inseparable unit. Which is why yoga and meditation are integral parts of Ayurveda. But equally important is our nutrition.
“When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.”
Ayurvedic proverb
“The great thing about Ayurveda is that its treatments always yield side benefits, not side effects.”
